Good Old Romance

Bored of magic, fantasy, horror and dystopian novels? Want a good old romance novel? Well, introducing to you the: Bridgerton Series.

Packed with balls, dances, gossips and romance, the Bridgerton novels prove to be entertaining and funny as ever! These books can hold your attention from the very first page to the very last one. Full of smart, witty and sarcastic dialogues and scenarios, these books are worth a read.

Currently my favourite is: The Duke and I, and I must say Julia Quinn is just a remarkable writer. Her writing just captivates you, holding you right there, urging you to just read the book. The way your feelings are evoked by the events is unbelievable. This book made me want to hug it and just sob with joy for I found something worth reading this year. At last. After looking for so long, I found THE book of the year for me.

Here is a short summary of the book:

Can there be any greater challenge to London’s Ambitious Mamas than an unmarried duke?
— Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers,
 April 1813

By all accounts, Simon Basset is on the verge of proposing to his best friend’s sister, the lovely—and almost-on-the-shelf—Daphney Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth–it’s all an elaborate plan to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers. And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable.

But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it’s hard to remember that their courtship is a complete sham. Maybe it’s his devilish smile, certainly it’s the way his eyes seem to burn every time he looks at her…but somehow Daphne is falling for the dashing duke…for real! And now she must do the impossible and convince the handsome rogue that their clever little scheme deserves a slight alteration, and that nothing makes quite as much sense as falling in love…”

I am currently enjoying reading it now and I am falling helplessly in love with this beautifully written novel. Give it a try, it might be the book of the year for you too!
